Gallery KLEI Goes To
The Craft Trend Fair, 2016
In December, Gallery KLEI travelled to Korea to participate in the esteemed, Craft Trend Fair. The Craft Trend Fair is in its 11th year and it is the oldest and largest existing fair for craft in Korea and Asia entirely. It is the culmination of new ideas and designs across the arts and crafts, spanning ceramics, function ware, textiles, furniture and other art and design-based ventures. It omits mass-produced objects or ideas, and focuses on original artistry only.
The Craft Trend Fair not only attracts a great deal of visitors, though what drew us most to it is the sense of community it seems to provide. It is a crowd filled with all kinds of people of varied occupations, but also includes several figures within the art world, connecting, networking and supporting each other.
Our participation included selecting and presenting a handful of Australian ceramicists and their work which we believe a broader market would respond to.
We were thrilled to have the following artists on board and are greatful for the experience of working with them and the fair!
