Artist Statement
Within my current painting practice I am exploring abstraction and expressionism, focusing on colour, shape, line, texture and space. My work allows me to share with the viewer the way I feel, see and interpret the world around me.
I draw inspiration from everyday objects and settings, working from sketches, photographs, imagination and memory to create my own visual language. The colours that I use are symbols for the way I view my reality. My work can be light and sometimes humorous while still remaining deeply personal. Reoccurring themes include perception, femininity and sexuality.
