Originally obtaining qualifications in Fine Art Photography and Education, in the last 10 years Larissa Warren has been artistically lured to clay. Her work is informed, to a degree, by a heritage of family matriarchal art workers. Childhood memories are bound within the mixture of clays and colours she explores and strives to control. The majority of Larissa’s ceramic forms are created with porcelain and play with the functionality of vessels. Translucency, and deposits of colour and texture embedded within thin slip cast walls, encourage closer examination and perform differently in various lighting conditions.
