I am interested in vessels and objects that have a domestic history. Objects have an ability to signify or hint at their former roles in the everyday quotidian life, routine and familial traditions. Vessels become treasured receptacles for memories. Cloth and lace envelops and emphasises the objects quiet presence. Their previous functions are obscured and no longer used, their stories, hidden, contained within. Drawings and paintings are directly referenced from close observations of still life constructions in the studio. A reduced colour palette and careful placement, allows for a contemplative approach to the finished works.
