Lamda Photo Print, 2008
76 x 51 cm, Unframed / 80 x 55 cm, Framed
About the work...
Identity is the main theme of my work as a photo-media artist. This concept, with its broad meaning has been experimented with by myself and others, using role-play, body language, portraiture and landscape. The self-performing image is a reflection on the situation I am experiencing and the space in which I am interacting.
'Lenka & Lena' series is created for mother and new born baby who just started new life in Australia. Chiaroscuro light effect was mainly used in this series with only candle lights or one source of strong light.

Soyoun Kim - Serenity 14
Archival Pigment Print. Edition 1/10, 2010

About the work...
Serenity Series - The building was used to be a luxurious European restaurant and I was lucky enough to pass by before rebuilding when the gorgeous structure was still there. It is a disaster but what I saw was the serene beauty. The luminant gold turned into red and black ash colors and it seems the building was still burning.
